IFRS
Accounting methodology
Ask about any transaction: how to recognise, measure and account for it under IFRS.
Question: "How should a volume rebate that the customer will receive at year-end be accounted for under IFRS?"
Answer: "The rebate is variable consideration: revenue is recognised net of the expected rebate, estimated using the expected value or the most likely amount, to the extent that it is highly probable that a significant reversal of revenue will not occur (paragraphs 50–56 of IFRS 15); the expected rebate is recognised as a refund liability."
Reporting methodology
Ask about the presentation of line items, disclosures and the preparation of financial statements under IFRS.
Question: "How should a material prior-period error be corrected in IFRS financial statements?"
Answer: "The error is corrected retrospectively: the comparative amounts for the prior period in which it occurred are restated, or the opening balances of the earliest period presented; the nature of the error and the amount of the correction for each line item are disclosed in the notes (paragraphs 42 and 49 of IAS 8)."
Conversion to IFRS
Upload a journal entries report for the period: the AI expert will convert the RAS data into a draft statement of financial position and statement of profit or loss under IFRS and show the conversion adjustments. The draft is not IFRS financial statements.
